Peoria residents and visitors to the P83 Entertainment District should be aware of upcoming traffic restrictions along 83rd Avenue from Skunk Creek Wash to Bell Road due to street improvement work. According to the City of Peoria, construction will begin Sunday, with crews removing existing asphalt in preparation for a new pavement overlay scheduled for late September.
Work will take place primarily overnight, from 8 p.m. to 11 a.m., to reduce daytime disruptions. At least one lane in each direction will remain open, though left turns may be restricted within the project area. Drivers are advised to allow extra time for possible detours.
The project will be completed in phases: asphalt removal from Sunday to Friday next week, crack repair beginning September 3, repaving starting September 28, and stamped concrete work beginning October 15. The project is expected to be finished by late October.
Traffic control will be lifted outside of work hours, and access to businesses and residences will be maintained. For questions or concerns, the public may call the 24-hour project hotline at 602-532-6250 or visit the City of Peoria’s official website for updates.
