This renovation period will impact commuters as Garnett Station will be closed to entry and exit. To accommodate riders, MARTA is providing a complimentary bus shuttle service connecting Garnett to the pivotal Five Points Station. A little extra time will be in order—officials recommend adding at least 15 additional minutes to commute times. For those seeking alternative routes, nearby Five Points, north of Garnett, and West End, south of Garnett, remains open for train service.
The work at Garnett Station includes a full replacement of the 40-year-old platform pavers, which have fallen into disrepair. By overhauling the worn tiles, MARTA aims to reduce trip hazards and simplify station maintenance in the long term.
