West Knox County residents breathed a collective sigh of relief after a potentially disastrous structure fire was quickly contained thanks to the prompt action of Rural Metro Fire crews. In a recent social media post, the fire department reported that they had been called to a residence on Saddle Way, in the Choto area, after a lightning strike set a kitchen ablaze during the morning's severe storms this Wednesday.
Upon their arrival, the teams encountered a home filled with smoke. They managed to rapidly locate and extinguish the small active fire, successfully preventing it from spreading and causing more extensive harm to the property. No injuries have been to report following the incident, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
In a statement shared by Rural Metro Fire - Knox County, Chief Jeff Devlin expressed his gratitude towards the firefighters' swift action: "I want to express my sincere appreciation to our firefighters for their quick response to this incident during our severe storms this morning.
