Residents of Riverdale and the surrounding areas who are concerned about pedestrian safety have an opportunity to voice their concerns and seek answers at an upcoming townhall meeting. Commissioner Tashe' Allen will be hosting the Pedestrian Safety Townhall on Tuesday, September 30, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Flint River Community Center, located at 153 Flint River Rd., Riverdale, GA 30274. For those unable to attend in person, the town hall will also be available to join virtually via Zoom, according to Clayton County's announcement.
Special guests from the Atlanta Regional Commission and Clayton County Transportation & Development Department will offer their insights and listen to community feedback during the event. Attendees are required to register online if they wish to participate virtually.
Discussions at the townhall are expected to cover various aspects of pedestrian infrastructure, including crosswalk safety, public lighting, and sidewalk accessibility for all community members, particularly the elderly and people with disabilities.
