Mark your calendars, because Thrive City is gearing up to entertain the masses with its slate of free fall events. According to a recent announcement, San Franciscans of all ages can expect a variety of family-friendly festivities starting in September and running until early November. The lineup includes everything from live music and sports watch parties to fitness classes and holiday-specific celebrations.
Kicking off the schedule on September 2 is the Live Music Lunch Series, where attendees can enjoy performances by Bay Area musicians on Tuesdays while they dine al fresco at the available retail spots. The series stretches through November 4, allowing locals to catch acts like Swami 3 and the Tracy Cruz Trio. For the tiny tots, Little Bears Music Classes will extend their activities on Fridays, promising shake, rattle, and dance sessions until November 7. And if you've got rhythm or restless feet, Thrive City, in collaboration with Kaiser Permanente, is rolling out their weekly fitness classes on Wednesdays and Saturdays, featuring yoga, pilates, and more.
Sports aficionados have plenty to look forward to as well. September 7 brings the US Open Watch Party, a joint affair by Thrive City, United States Tennis Association Northern California, and Harmonic Brewing, where fans can catch the tennis action and maybe knock around a red ball or two themselves. Then in October, prepare to swap your sneakers for costumes at the annual Thrill-O-Ween extravaganza, which promises to be a hit with trick-or-treat stations, a pumpkin patch, and a costume contest. Oh, and for those whose Sundays are reserved for touchdowns and tackles, selected football games will be broadcast on the biggest outdoor screen in the city at Thrive City.
But don’t think it’s all play and no serious business. World Mental Health Day on October 10 is set to promote well-being, with Kaiser Permanente presenting a day filled with wellness activities. And basketball buffs can look forward to October 4, when the Hoop It Up 3x3 Basketball Tournament shakes the courts, courtesy of NBA legend Kevin Garnett. Lastly, the chillier climes of November 2 will be warmed up with "A Minecraft Movie" screening during the Blankets & Blockbusters event, including family-friendly arts and crafts.
Thrive City's track record speaks for itself. It has hosted over 500 events since July 2023 and shows no signs of slowing down. Each event has been strategically designed to tackle the community's diverse interests, ranging from health and wellness to arts, sports, and civic participation. All events are open to the public and feature free admission.
