
The San José Police Department has disclosed the identity of the suspect for the city's 18th homicide of the year, as reported in an update by local authorities. The incident took place on Sunday. Responding to a report of a suspicious circumstance at a home on the 100 Block of Danze Drive, police officers discovered an adult male with injuries indicative of physical assault. The victim, found unconscious and not breathing, was declared deceased at the scene by arriving medical staff.
According to the San José Police Department, the homicide unit initiated an investigation that led to the apprehension and booking of Jerry Cao, a 42-year-old San José resident, for the crime of murder. The incarceration occurred at the Santa Clara County Main Jail. While a suspect is in custody, the motive and the specifics of the altercation that culminated in the death remain the subjects of ongoing inquiry.
