The San Mateo Police Department has reported the arrest of two individuals, Luis Magana and Talia George, following an incident involving package theft on Wednesday. The detainees are facing multiple charges, including burglary and conspiracy.
According to a statement released by the San Mateo Police Department, the arrest occurred after officers received a report at approximately 9:39 PM regarding a package theft on the 400 block of Station Park Circle. Law enforcement quickly located Magana and George near Garvey Way and S Delaware Street. They were promptly detained, and subsequent investigations determined sufficient probable cause to arrest the suspects for a series of crimes, including delaying an officer during their investigation.
Further details obtained by the officers led to the discovery of suspected methamphetamine on George, as well as what appeared to be burglary tools in one of her bags, resulting in additional charges. Both individuals also faced the repercussions of multiple outstanding warrants. Magana, a 35-year-old Van Nuys resident, and George, a 34-year-old from San Francisco, were booked into the San Mateo County Jail following their arrest.
The charges against Luis Magana include burglary, conspiracy to commit a crime, and delaying an officer, in addition to his outstanding warrants. Talia George faces similar charges, but also includes possession of burglary tools and a controlled substance.
