According to the offical announcement, this path forward includes a two-week application period, ending sharply at 5 p.m. on September 11, for those looking to make a civic impact.
In line with the transparent ethos espoused by the Supervisors, the selection of candidates will unfold before the public eye. The chosen few will face interviews during a Special Session slated for September 15th, in broad daylight at the Board of Supervisors Hearing Room in Florence. This means, of course, that applicants have to ensure their schedules are cleared for that crucial Monday. The seven who make the cut will represent San Tan Valley until voters head to the polls in 2026.
The doors to the Town Council are open only to those who meet a set criteria: applicants should be legal residents of Arizona, nestled within the confines of San Tan Valley, have called it home for at least a year, registered to vote in the state, literate in English, and have clocked in 18 years of life.
