Deputies from the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Civil Division stumbled upon a disturbing scene last month while assisting Code Enforcement on a property along Quimby Road in unincorporated San Jose. Their discovery of several animals in dire conditions has sparked an animal welfare investigation, as told by an official social media post from the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office.
A mother dog with her puppies was among the animals in a precarious plight, lacking proper care and sustenance. The deputies quickly intervened to provide them food and water, ensuring their immediate safety. This act of kindness was a mere stepping stone towards a potentially better life for these animals, as they were subsequently placed under the care of the County of Santa Clara Animal Services. "A mother dog and her puppies were rescued, given food and water, and are now safe," the Sheriff's Office shared.
