Santa Clara County Sheriff’s deputies intercepted a stolen vehicle with electronic devices and gift cards. This was no ordinary traffic stop as it revealed a mobile center of illicit operations.

According to a social media post by the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office, deputies patrolling the area of S. King Road and Story Road spotted a stolen white Audi Q7 on Tuesday night. The vehicle, reported stolen out of L.A. County, was carrying an astonishing cache of over 1,500 gift cards, 11 cell phones, and 5 laptops. The suspect in custody, identified as Zhuoqi Lin, 31, from Monterey Park, faces charges including vehicle theft, possession of a stolen vehicle, and embezzlement.

Thanks to what the Sheriff's Office dubbed the "sharp eyes" of their deputies, this particular batch of gift cards will not reach their intended market. In a commendation of their staff's vigilance, the Sheriff's Office noted, "these fraudulent cards won’t make it back to store shelves."
