The St. Louis-based company is set to almost double its retail presence in the area, according to an announcement detailed by FOX 2 Now, with the current 36,500-square-foot location at 10650 Olive Blvd. making way for a 68,000-square-foot facility.
The new Schnucks market promises modern amenities and an expanded range of options for consumers. According to a statement obtained by KSDK, Chief Executive Officer Todd Schnuck expressed excitement for the forthcoming store, which is set to bolster the shopping experience by offering amenities that the current, aged infrastructure can't accommodate. Open since 1967, the present store stands as one of the company's oldest. The new store will be nestled in the heart of a nearly $1 billion mixed-use district.
While the project continues to brew without a set grand opening date, Schnucks has confirmed that employees from the old store will be transferred to the new premises, a transition that promises a sense of continuity for both staff and customers. The move anticipates the creation of additional employment opportunities to meet the demands of the expanded store, as reported by FOX 2 Now. The development, situated on a former Bayer campus, also comprises apartments, townhouses, and office spaces across its 96-acre expanse.
Olia Village has gained attention not just for its innovative design but for its economic impact, securing approval for tax incentives earlier in the year.
