
At around 11:03 p.m. last Tuesday, a 2019 Toyota Camry driven by 80-year-old Rafi Nersessian from Henderson struck three pedestrians at the intersection of South Pecos Road and East Tropicana Avenue in Las Vegas. According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the pedestrians were crossing against the signal.
Despite having a green light, Nersessian’s vehicle struck three pedestrians who were in a marked crosswalk. All three were thrown onto the pavement and injured. Randi Weldon, 47, was later pronounced dead at the hospital last Friday, becoming the 103rd traffic-related fatality in Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s jurisdiction in 2025. The other two victims, April Roberts, 50, and Christopher Washington, 38, were also hospitalized. Roberts remains in critical condition, while Washington was treated and released, as mentioned by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
The driver, identified as Nersessian, was arrested at his registered address on hit-and-run charges.
