
Early this morning, a severe accident on Interstate 93 in Medford resulted in the complete shutdown of the southbound lanes, causing significant detours and traffic delays. According to Massachusetts Department of Transportation's social media update, the closure occurred at exit 22, with vehicles being directed to exit 23.

The crash, which happened around 5:50 a.m., led to three individuals being transported to Massachusetts General Hospital, in a report from NBC Boston. State police confirmed that troopers arrived on scene to find one person ejected from a vehicle, the person was not conscious or responsive at the time.
Medford Fire and EMS responded to the incident, where the condition of the three injured parties remains unknown. The number of vehicles involved in the crash has not been disclosed. The Massachusetts State Police informed that their collision analysis, reconstruction and crime scene services sections had been notified to investigate the scene further.
