Business leaders and community figures in St. Augustine have a unique chance coming up to see law enforcement from the inside out. The St. Johns County Sheriff's Office invites you to "The Guardian Experience," an exclusive look at the daily operations of the SJSO. Scheduled for September 22, from 7:30 am to 3 pm, this isn't your typical tour.
For a cool $1,000 per ticket, participants can immerse themselves in a variety of demonstrations that include Precision Immobilized Techniques (PIT) on their driving track, a 'Top Shot' competition at the range, and the opportunity to climb inside a SWAT BearCat vehicle. According to the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office social media page, attendees will also experience a live K9 demonstration and tours of the Real Time Intelligence Center and 911 Communications Center.
For those intrigued by specialized teams, the event promises interaction with the SWAT, Bomb Squad, Motor Unit, Drone Team, Crisis Negotiation Team, Air Unit, and K9 Unit. The event underlines a dual purpose: not only does it offer a firsthand look at law enforcement capabilities, but it also serves as a fundraiser. "The Guardian Experience is more than a tour, its an experience!" the SJSO enthusiastically states. The entirety of the ticket proceeds are meant to assist SJSO employees and their families during times of crisis.
With limited spots available, those interested in participating are encouraged to act quickly in booking their place at this behind-the-scenes event. All proceeds from ticket sales are designated to directly benefit SJSO staff in need.
