St. Charles has issued a Water Conservation Order after a critical pipeline was damaged, prohibiting non-essential water use such as irrigation, filling pools, and washing vehicles. The order is effective immediately, according to the St. Charles’ official website.
Repairs to the damaged main are expected to be completed by 8 p.m. tonight. Crews will then flush the pipeline overnight and into the morning to remove any contaminants. Water samples will be collected for laboratory testing to ensure safety before service fully resumes.
If results meet quality standards, the Boil Water Advisory could be lifted by Sunday. The city plans to provide another update at 4 p.m. today.
