According to a social media post from the St. Charles Parish Sheriff's Office, the episode unfolded on July 31, whereby a female suspect reportedly slipped an item into her purse and vacated the Hibbett Sports store in Luling without rendering payment.
Efforts to identify the suspect are currently underway, with the Sheriff's Office circulating photos from the store's surveillance footage. The agency has made a public appeal, asking for anyone with information that could lead to the identification of the individual to step forward. "The individual entered the store, put an item in her purse, and left without paying," stated the St. Charles Parish Sheriff's Office on their official Facebook page.
