The St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office (CAO) is launching a Citizens Academy, a six-week program designed to give residents a closer look at the local criminal justice system. The program begins October 9 and applications are due by September 15, as per the St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office.

Participants will learn about the progress of a case from investigation to trial and sentencing. The program will include interactive sessions, site visits, and discussions with prosecutors and staff. A visit to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department’s Real Time Crime Center is among the scheduled activities.

Sessions will be held on Thursdays from 5:00–7:00 PM, running from October 9 through November 13. The program is free and open to all Greater St. Louis residents aged 18 and older, with a special invitation extended to community leaders, students, and early-career professionals.

The Citizens Academy aims to provide residents with a clearer understanding of the office’s work and decision-making processes. More information and the application form can be found on the CAO’s announcement page.
