An 18-year-old man faces charges after St. Louis police officers discovered a cache of guns, one equipped with a device that converted it into a fully automatic weapon. The seizure occurred in the Jeff-Vander-Lou neighborhood, according to a social media post by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.
The officers, part of District 4, were responding to a call when, they made the discovery of the firearms. The arsenal included one gun that had been modified with a conversion device. Such devices are often illegal and can dangerously alter the function of a weapon. "These guns were taken off the streets and seized by your District 4 officers!" the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department exclaimed, celebrating the removal of these weapons from public circulation.
Police did not immediately release details on what led to the initial call or how the investigation led to the finding of the guns and the subsequent arrest of the young man.
