Residents of St. Peters can expect a few changes to City services to come their way as Labor Day approaches. According to a notice on the City of St. Peters' official website, several municipal facilities, including City Hall, the Municipal Court, and the Cultural Arts Centre, will be shuttered on Sept. 1 in observance of the holiday. For folks depending on services like the Police Records Division or the Earth Centre, plan to adjust your schedules as these too will be closing their doors.

Trash, recycling, and yard waste collection will not take place on Monday and will be delayed by one day for the rest of the week. Bulky trash pickup for multi-family residences will also be delayed by one day, while the regular semi-annual bulky pickup remains unchanged. The Recycle City transfer station and Earth Centre will be closed on Labor Day, but the Aytes Community Recycling Center will remain open for drop-off during daylight hours.

The St. Peters Rec-Plex will be open on Labor Day from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., but registration and administrative desks will be closed. Laurel Park Pool and The Cove will also be open for the final day of the season from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Animal Control will remain on call to respond to resident needs during the holiday. Essential services in St. Peters will continue to be available on Labor Day.
