
Sacramento is in for a week of clear skies and warming temperatures, the National Weather Service (NWS) reports. Sunshine today will bring a high of 87 degrees, with a light south-southwest breeze ranging from 6 to 9 mph.
The clear conditions will persist into tonight, with the low forecasted to be around 61 degrees. The south wind will continue to blow at around 9 mph and could bring gusts reaching up to 18 mph. While Sunday will also be sunny with a high near 82 degrees, the breeze will maintain its presence, potentially gusting as high as 18 mph, says the NWS.
The pattern of sunny days is projected to continue through the end of the week. Monday's forecast promises sunshine and a comfortable high near 85 degrees, with winds slowing to a southwest whisper of 3 to 6 mph. When night falls, the sky will remain clear, and temperatures are expected to dip to around 57 degrees.
Citizens can prepare for a gradual warming trend as Tuesday's temperatures climb to a level near 90 degrees. The evening will likely bring clear skies and a low close to 59 degrees. A notable heatwave appears to be on the horizon, with the mercury set to surge to a scorching 97 degrees by Wednesday and potentially cresting at 100 degrees on Thursday and Friday, "Sunny and hot, with a high near 100," as forecasted by the NWS.
Temperatures during the hot spell are expected to remain elevated even at night, with lows in the 60s. Forecasts indicate several days of sunshine ahead, with guidance emphasizing the need to maintain hydration and take standard precautions against heat exposure.
