As the job market changes, the City of Surprise is working to address employment needs in the West Valley. In partnership with ARIZONA@WORK, the city is hosting a free hiring event connecting job seekers with more than 20 employers, including Always Caring HomeCare, the Arizona Department of Public Safety, and Desert Diamond Casinos.
The event is set to take place on September 25, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Surprise Regional Library. Participants are encouraged to bring their resumes and be prepared to connect with employers, either virtually or in person. According to a post on the City of Surprise website, "Job seekers can meet potential employers and establish professional relationships in a convenient, time-saving setting."
The list of participating employers includes representatives from the educational sector, such as Avondale School District and Dysart Schools, as well as financial services like H&R Block. Federal agencies, including U.S. Customs and Border Protection, will also be present. The event reflects the range of industries in the West Valley.
In addition to meeting employers, ARIZONA@WORK will be available to provide various resources to assist job seekers in their employment search. The organization offers support aimed at helping individuals find and succeed in jobs. For more information, contact Melinda Greenhouse at 623.222.1630 or [email protected].
