Households expecting waste removal should anticipate a one-day delay during that week due to a modified trash and recycling collection schedule for City of Surprise customers. To stay informed about these changes, residents can sign up for weekly pickup reminders via text or email through the MySurprise App, which helps maintain communication between city services and the community. Those not serviced directly by the city are advised to check with their own providers for any schedule adjustments.
Surprise’s three libraries will follow adjusted hours for the holiday. Surprise Regional and Asante Libraries will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., while Hollyhock Library will operate from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. City parks and recreation programs will continue as scheduled, but participants are advised to confirm their individual schedules. Additionally, the Surprise Tennis & Racquet Center will open early, from 6:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.
