A 61-year-old man, identified as Austin Johnell Fitzgerald, faces multiple charges following incidents at Tower Grove Park. According to First Alert 4, Fitzgerald is accused of apprehending two women, where he allegedly used a gun to coerce them, stating, "You two are coming with me." In a reported struggle, when one woman resisted, Fitzgerald directed her to follow him in her car and forced the second victim into his own vehicle.
The situation escalated as Fitzgerald, with one victim in his car, placed a gun on his lap and proceeded to inappropriately touch the woman. She managed to escape by jumping into a bystander's vehicle, who was recording the event for evidence.
Both incidents, which police articulate happened over the span of two days, culminated in Fitzgerald's arrest. His litany of charges includes two counts of kidnapping, one count of sexual abuse, and other related offenses as noted by the KSDK News. On the day subsequent to the kidnappings, Fitzgerald purportedly returned to the park, attacking several individuals with brass knuckles, further adding to his charges.
