A man is currently in custody after a violent altercation yesterday led to the fatal shooting of his brother and the critical injury of his sister in Taylor. This harrowing incident transpired at a residence on Cass Avenue, in close proximity to Wick and Pardee roads. Responding officers were initially called to a domestic violence situation involving the suspect and his girlfriend.
In an attempt to diffuse the volatile scenario, siblings of the suspect living nearby tried to intercede but were tragically greeted with gunfire. One sibling, the brother, was pronounced dead at the scene, whereas the sister was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. According to a Taylor Police Department statement obtained by ClickOnDetroit, the suspect was apprehended at the site of the incident.

"The gentleman chose to introduce a weapon and shot his brother, tragically resulting in him losing his life. And also shot his sister, who is in critical condition with two gun shot wounds," Taylor Police Lt. Frank Canning told reporters in an interview with WXYZ. "I'm glad he's safe, I'm glad this dad is safe, everybody else that was involved is safe — it's terrifying. It's a scary world that we live in," she said.
