An 18-year-old from Osceola, Indiana, was injured following a collision last Saturday afternoon in Cass County, according to authorities. The incident occurred around 2:15 p.m. at the intersection of Marcellus Highway and Lawrence Road, involved the teenager failing to stop at a stop sign while driving north on Lawrence Road, as reported by WSBT.
The young driver's vehicle was subsequently hit by an eastbound vehicle driven by a 35-year-old Decatur man. Injuries were sustained by the 18-year-old and he was taken to the hospital for treatment. Details regarding his condition have not been released.
The Cass County Sheriff's Office, which continues to thoroughly investigate the mishap, has stated that alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash. It was also confirmed that both drivers were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the incident, according to WOODTV.
