Three individuals were injured during an outbreak of gunfire yesterday in the Bronx. As reported by ABC7NY, the shots rang out on Crotona Parkway near East Tremont just before 1 a.m., prompting police to arrive at the scene in response to an assault in progress.
Two women, ages 22 and 32, were found with gunshot wounds to the arm and back respectively, and a 37-year-old man walked into Saint Barnabas Hospital by himself after being shot in the arm. According to authorities, while walking into the hospital, the third victim suffered a gunshot wound to his left arm.
Meanwhile, Bronx News 12 details the incident occurring on 1932 Crotona Parkway, highlighting the critical condition of the 32-year-old woman rushed into surgery and stating that the other two victims are expected to recover. Witnesses at the scene suggest the shooting may have been the result of a late-night party.
Amidst the chaos, police were able to recover five shell casings scattered along Elsmere Pl. As of now, no arrests have been made and the investigation into the series of events leading up to the shooting is ongoing.
