Three men have been charged following a shooting incident that occurred last Monday at a gas station in Pontiac, Michigan. According to CBS News Detroit, Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald stated the altercation was gang-related and the exchange of gunfire endangered the community. The three accused include William Hanley, 21, from Pontiac, and two 23-year-olds, Damian Thomas, also of Pontiac, and Devone Calhoun, from Southfield. "The alleged actions of these defendants were directed at the victim, but they also endangered the entire community with a gun fight. While we can be grateful no one was injured, it doesn't make this behavior any less irresponsible and dangerous," McDonald was quoted by FOX 2 Detroit.
Hanley faces charges of assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder, carrying a concealed weapon, and felony firearm. Each charge carries a different maximum prison sentence, up to 10 years for the assault charge alone. Hanley is currently held on a $25,000 cash bond and is scheduled to return to court for a probable cause conference on August 21.
