Two of the three suspects involved in an auto theft at a Metro Detroit car dealership were apprehended by Troy police yesterday, with the third suspect currently avoiding capture. ClickOnDetroit reports that the arrests were made without incident, and the remaining suspect fled in a stolen vehicle, later crashing near Coolidge Highway and subsequently fleeing on foot.

The chase began when Troy police, during an active auto theft investigation around Maple and Crooks roads at about 3 p.m., followed the suspects to a nearby dealership where the two arrests took place. As reported by CBS News Detroit, the third individual managed to escape in a stolen vehicle before abandoning it between Crooks Road / Exit 72 and Adams Road / Exit 74 on northbound I-75, where the crash occurred. No officers were injured despite two police vehicles being damaged during the pursuit.

A perimeter was set up in efforts to locate the at-large suspect, and although the individual remains on the loose, authorities have assured the public there is no imminent danger. Tips are being solicited by the Troy Police Department, with anyone having information encouraged to call 248-524-0777, email [email protected], or reach out to Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-Speak-Up, as per FOX 2 Detroit.
