In the early hours of last Saturday, Tulsa Police searched for Kristopher Jackson, 34, who faced charges including Domestic Strangulation, Kidnapping, and Strong-Armed Robbery. Jackson evaded capture through the night until the police dog Vander helped locate and arrest him, as stated by the Tulsa Police Department.
The Tulsa Police Department reported that officers were searching near 1000 N Irvington Ave when their K-9, Vander, led them to bushes by the railroad tracks. There, they found and arrested Jackson hiding in the bushes. Vander helped the police locate the suspect despite the low visibility and dense plants.
According to the Tulsa Police Department on their Facebook page, during the arrest of Kristopher Jackson, "Our K-9 Officer and his partner K-9 Vander, stepped in to assist." The officers and K-9 Vander worked together to take Jackson into custody after a pursuit. The arrest is related to a domestic violence case.
