Two men have been arrested in Macomb County on suspicion of being responsible for a series of infotainment screen thefts from trucks, with officials linking them to dozens of such incidents. According to WWJ Newsradio, the suspects, aged 23 and 26, were apprehended during a break-in attempt by authorities who had been investigating the cases for several months.

Operating across Macomb County, the Macomb Auto Theft Squad (MATS) has reported 87 instances of theft targeting Dodge Ram trucks' infotainment systems since February, as posted on their Facebook page. Despite the arrests made yesterday, some victims have faced recurring thefts, having their infotainment screens stolen more than once from the same truck.

The arrest occurred as the two individuals were actively observed by detectives during a surveillance operation, breaking into vehicles. In a swift response, law enforcement officials were able to detain both suspects with aid from the Detroit Police Department and the Oakland County Sheriff's Office Auto Theft Unit.

The Macomb County Sheriff's Office has yet to release the identities of the suspects, who are now facing potential charges following the August 21 incidents, reported to be in custody at the Oakland County Sheriff's Office. Given the ongoing nature of the investigation, authorities remain vigilant, as other thefts in the county could be directly linked to the men currently under suspicion.
