Atlanta rapper Jeezy was running late for a Baltimore concert and got help from an unexpected hero—an Uber driver named Tanner. As reported by FOX 5 Atlanta, Tanner took the wheel for a marathon 10-hour drive after a series of unfortunate events almost derailed the artist's tour stop.
The trouble started when Jeezy's flight was grounded due to bad weather, prompting an impromptu road trip. The situation quickly escalated when their car struck an object, leaving them stranded with a punctured gas tank and slowly leaking fuel. That's when Tanner, originally hailed for a short detour to a rental car spot, stepped up to the plate. Finding no rentals on hand, a conversation had Tanner agreed to quickly drive the full distance to Maryland. "Eight minutes into the ride, I turned to him and said, 'Hey, we need to go to Baltimore.' I asked how much he’d charge to take us there, and after a moment of consideration, he replied, 'Let me think about it.' I assured him that whatever it was, he’d have it. Like real one, he didn’t hesitate and just kept driving,'" Jeezy recounted in a statement obtained by iHeart 104.5 SNX.
The impromptu journey was a success; Jeezy arrived at the venue with just minutes to spare before his scheduled performance. As a thank-you, Tanner was gifted a Snowman t-shirt and made a special guest at the concert. His act of above-and-beyond service did not go unnoticed by Jeezy, who took to social media to celebrate the driver. "Shout out to the real MVP, my Uber driver Tanner! Not all heroes wear capes!" the rapper posted on Instagram, as reported by iHeart 104.5 SNX.
