The UTEP Miners took the silver spot in the CUSA SAAC Cup rankings for the 2024-25 season, showcasing their prowess far beyond their athletic endeavors. According to UTEP Miners, their second-place finish was just shy of the first-place Kennesaw State, which edged out the Miners with a four-point lead in the competition that grades schools on academics, community service, financial literacy, and career development.

UTEP student-athletes didn't just sweat it out on the field but also hit the books hard, breaking school records and amassing academic honors. With 246 players earning spots on the CUSA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll and 87 of them grabbing CUSA Commissioner's Academic Medals, it is clear that the Miners are as competitive in the classrooms as they are in their respective sports arenas.

In terms of community impact, UTEP athletes dedicated a total of 1,443 service hours to various initiatives over the past athletic year. This included hosting more than 15 professional development events, demonstrating their commitment to enriching their academic and practical skills beyond the physicality of sports. "At UTEP, we take great pride in being more than athletes — we're leaders, scholars, and advocates for change," Amanda Pulido, Director of Student-Athlete Development at UTEP, told UTEP Miners.
