The University of Texas at El Paso's (UTEP) track and field program recently got a fresh lineup of coaching talent, courtesy of head coach Francesca Green. According to UTEP Miners, Green has bolstered her coaching staff with Elijah Barnes (throws), Justin Herbert (cross country, distance), and Abby Walls (operations & jumps/multis). Joining them is graduate assistant Trayvion White-Austin, while Kimberly Francis is set to return to the Miners for a second stint.

"I'm incredibly proud to welcome this exceptional group of coaches to the UTEP track & field and cross country family," Green said, in what reads like to be truly fired up to take the team to the next level. She adds, "Each member of this staff brings a championship mindset, a relentless work ethic, and a deep commitment to the holistic development of our student-athletes," as obtained by UTEP Miners. This new cadre of coaches is expected not only to fiercely drive up the competition stats but also to holistically mold the athletes.

Elijah Barnes joins the squad after a successful stint at Indian Hills Community College, where his throwers broke school records and raked in All-American honors. Justin Herbert swings into the team off the back of a rewarding tenure at Indiana Tech, bringing with him a depth of experience that's been honed at multiple levels of collegiate athletics. Herbert, armed with his USATF Level II Certification in Endurance, has been previously lauded as coach of the year on two occasions. Abby Walls, meanwhile, is trading in her multifaceted operations gig at the University of Arizona for a more hands-on coaching role at UTEP.
