
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) is lending its expertise to the Pulaski County Sheriff's Office following an aggravated assault that took place in Hawkinsville, Georgia. Reported on the GBI's official website, Nickelas Adams, a 21-year-old from Warner Robins, has been arrested in connection with the incident, facing charges of Aggravated Assault and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony. An arrest warrant has also been issued for David Walker, age 20, of Hawkinsville, for similar offenses.
Details of the case stem from an event on August 21, when Pulaski County deputies responded to a call at around 4:10 p.m. about a shooting at 1st Franklin Financial. Upon arrival, they found Adams and another man, who had been shot multiple times, in a parking lot adjacent to a 2024 Toyota Corolla, which also bore the marks of gunfire. The injured man was promptly taken to a hospital to receive medical attention, and, nearby Jelks Street was scrutinized by deputies who discovered numerous cartridge cases in the vicinity.
An exchange of gunfire is at the center of this incident, involving two differing groups on Jelks Street, according to preliminary investigations. The narrative that spurred this violent interaction remains undisclosed. Adams, apprehended on the scene, is now detained at the Pulaski County Law Enforcement Center while the search for Walker continues.
