Drivers in Warrenton should expect changes at the Missouri Route 47 and Interstate 70 intersection starting the week of September 15.
According to the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT), the project involves moving a traffic signal cabinet from its current island location to a new site southwest of the interchange. Meyer Electric Company, Inc. was awarded the $42,125 contract and is expected to complete the work within a week, weather permitting.
Minimal disruption is anticipated during the day, though drivers may notice some delays. At night, the signal will switch to red flash mode, requiring drivers to treat the intersection as a four-way stop until the new system is connected.
A 10-foot width restriction will be in place on MO 47 during construction. Signs along I-70 will alert drivers to traffic changes. For updates, motorists can call MoDOT’s customer center at 1-888-ASK-MODOT (275-6636) or check the Traveler Information Map online.
