In a turn of events on July 14, Webster Police Officers arrested Hector Champagne for shoplifting from a store where he was previously barred. According to a social media post by the Webster Police Department Massachusetts, Champagne, who had a history of shoplifting, was caught stealing numerous items from the Price Chopper Grocery Store and attempted a swift getaway on foot.
Despite the swift response from law enforcement, they discovered Champagne, adorned with a description provided by Officer Thomas Motyka, had four warrants out for his arrest. After searching, Officers, receiving guidance from Loss Prevention personnel, were directed to Champagne’s last known address. It was there, without incident, Hector Champagne was placed under arrest—his admission of theft sealing the fate
The warrants for Hector Champagne, 29, of Negus St., Webster, encompass a range of previous offenses. They include trespassing and shoplifting, vandalism of property, larceny under $1,200, and even more severe charges like assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and domestic assault and battery. On this most recent run-in with the authorities, Champagne faced fresh charges of shoplifting and trespassing.
After being taken into custody and in light of the presumption of innocence until proven guilty, Mr. Champagne will face the due process of law for his alleged crimes.
