The incident occurred around 11:15 a.m. on the Bearwaller Hiking Trail, prompting a response from local emergency teams. The hiker was located roughly a quarter-mile from the trail's entrance at the hill's summit, as per reports from WSMV.
First responders from Smith County Emergency Medical Services, alongside the rescue squad, utilized a Stokes basket, which is specifically designed for rough terrain, to evacuate the woman down the hill. The effort was a success thanks to the coordination between different rescue teams. Following the descent, the woman was met by rangers and subsequently transported by ambulance to Riverview Regional Medical Center for additional care, WKRN reports.
