In a recent operation conducted by the Worcester Police Department's Vice Squad, a man was arrested for his alleged involvement in the distribution of crack cocaine. The arrest took place yesterday, near Oread Place in Worcester, as reported by the official social media account of the Worcester Police Department.
The vice squad, while performing surveillance duties, observed forty-four-year-old Porfirio Burgos of Chandler St; he seemed to be in possession of a clear sandwich bag that contained a suspicious substance, they saw him handing out a small item to another man, this act didn't go unnoticed by the officers present at the scene. The man who received the item was subsequently stopped by the police and the substance he obtained from Burgos was believed to be crack cocaine, based on the officers' experience and training.
Upon confrontation and a search, the officers discovered a larger bag of what appeared to be crack cocaine in Mr. Burgos's possession. The Worcester Police Department stated, "Officers stopped Mr. Burgos and recovered what appeared to be a larger bag of crack cocaine." As a result of the incident, Mr. Porfirio Burgos was placed under arrest facing charges which included Distribution of a Class B Substance and Possession of a Class B Substance with Intent to Distribute.
