A 23-year-old man has been charged in the shooting death of a 17-year-old in Spanish Lake. First Alert 4 reported that Nykelte Wilburn faces charges of second-degree murder, two counts of armed criminal action, unlawful use of a weapon, and failure to report a shooting.

According to a probable cause statement obtained by KSDK, the shooting happened around 10:30 p.m. Friday outside a business in the 11000 block of Larimore. Wilburn is being held on a $1 million cash-only bond. A court date has not yet been set. Another shooting occurred less than 24 hours later and less than two miles away on Prigge Road, seriously injuring a man. Authorities have not said if the two incidents are connected.
