Turning himself in yesterday, Rieley Fuller, 28 years old, is now facing charges in relation to the fatal shooting incident that occurred on Westmoor Drive last month. According to the Atlanta Police Department's release, Fuller is accused of Murder, Aggravated Assault, and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, with his next destination being the Fulton County Jail following the surrender at Atlanta Public Safety Headquarters.
The tragic shooting, taking place on the night of August 23rd, left a 27-year-old male victim fatally injured. Arriving at 996 Westmoor Dr. NW after a distress call around 11:24 p.m., the Zone 1 officers discovered the victim with a severe gunshot wound. The man was quickly taken to the hospital in critical condition, only to later pass away because of the injuries sustained. Investigators with the Homicide Unit were summoned to unravel the narrative of events that led to the shooting.
While the arrest of Mr. Fuller shadows with implication, it remains crucial to uphold the presumption of innocence, a cornerstone of our judicial system. "All arrests and photos are public information. An arrest does not mean that the individual has been or will be convicted of the crime. Individuals on this press release/post/video are presumed innocent until proven guilty by a court of law," the Atlanta Police Department reminds us.
