An elderly man from Maryville has been found safe after the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation issued a Silver Alert. William Minser, 81, was last seen on Sunday morning when he left his home. Tennessee Bureau of Investigatio shared his description and vehicle details, a 2002 Toyota Tundra with Tennessee license plate 0001WF, to help locate him. He is described as 5'6", 165 pounds, with blue eyes and gray hair, according to WVLT.
On Monday morning, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation announced that Minser was found in Knoxville and the Silver Alert was canceled. Authorities said his medical condition may have affected his ability to return safely without help, but confirmed he is safe. WATE earlier reported that the public was asked to contact the Blount County Sheriff’s Office or TBI with any information about the Maryville man’s location.
Earlier this year, a Maryville park was named after Minser for his work with the Foothills Land Conservancy, as mentioned by WBIR. He was recently reported missing but was found safe after the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation issued a Silver Alert. No further details have been released by his family or authorities.
