Firefighters from the Alameda County Fire Department (ACFD) grappled with a house fire on Upland Road in San Leandro that began yesterday. The fire escalated quickly from the exteriors into the attics of two homes. According to a social media post by ACFD, the incident was reported at 10:55 AM and required hours of effort from the crews to contain the flames.
Utility company PG&E was promptly called to the scene to address potentially hazardous downed power lines, ensuring that the area was safe for firefighters to operate. While battling the aggressive fire, which took several hours, exhausted firefighters successfully prevented any injuries from being reported.
The ordeal thankfully concluded without any physical harm to individuals, though the status of the affected houses remains unclear. With the fire now under control, the focus shifts to investigating its origin.
