
The Algood Fire Department has given the all-clear after an earlier motor vehicle accident that resulted in a fuel spill at the intersection of Hwy 111 and Hwy 42. The incident which brought emergency responders to the scene, has been resolved with the vehicles involved being cleared from the area.
In a statement on social media, the Algood Fire Department advised, "vehicles have been cleared, but please exercise caution." While the immediate hazard is dealt with, motorists are urged to remain vigilant when traveling through the intersection, which has been the site of recent disruption and emergency activity.
The alert came from not just the fire department but also included coordination from the Putnam County Emergency Management Agency, law enforcement, and the Office of Emergency Services (O.E.S). Each played a crucial role in the accident's response and the subsequent cleanup of the hazardous spill. The specifics of the accident, including the cause, and whether there were any injuries, have not been disclosed at the time.
