Griffin Police have stepped up investigations in a sex trafficking case with two individuals now behind bars, including the owner of an apartment complex and the mother of one of the teen victims. Herbert Shaw, 69, the man responsible for managing Quiet Hills Apartment Complex, has been arrested on charges of sex trafficking involving two 15-year-olds, the Griffin Police Department confirmed. Shaw, the primary suspect, now faces additional charges of grooming and enticing a child for indecent purposes, according to an article from FOX 5 Atlanta.
Accompanying Shaw in the list of suspects is Erica Miller, 37, whose relationship to one of the victims stretches beyond blood, into a realm of complicity in heinous acts, as per the law enforcement narrative. Miller has also been charged, with investigators suggesting her involvement was significant enough to warrant legal action, as 11Alive reported.
Griffin Police are asking the community for help in an ongoing investigation that began in early August. Authorities believe there may be additional victims or witnesses who have not yet come forward. Anyone with information is urged to contact Investigator S. Amos at [email protected] or call 770-229-6450 ext. 526.
