An Arizona man has been apprehended and charged with the kidnapping of two Missouri children, according to the Atchison County Sheriff's Office. Officials stated that 22-year-old Dustin A. Hill from Florence, Arizona, was located and detained in Evansville, Indiana. The two 12-year-old girls had been reported missing after failing to return home from a Friday night football game in Rock Port, a revelation made in an earlier statement obtained by FOX 10 Phoenix.
Following their disappearance, the girls' safe retrieval was the fruit of collaborative efforts, including the FBI and the Cyber Crimes Task Force, as made clear in reports by the Atchison County Sheriff's Department. Hill, discovered with the girls in Evansville, was booked into the Vanderburgh County Jail last Saturday night, WSAW detailed.
The Atchison County Sheriff's Office shared that a Probable Cause Statement led to a warrant issued by the Atchison County Circuit Court for two counts of kidnapping. "A Probable Cause Statement was filed with the Atchison County Prosecutor's Office for the case, resulting in a warrant being issued by the Atchison County Circuit Couty on two separate charges of kidnapping," the sheriff's investigators informed via FOX 10 Phoenix.
At present, the specific details surrounding the allegations against Hill remain undisclosed by the investigating authorities. Still, they have indicated that the investigation is ongoing, and Hill could see additional charges beyond the current kidnapping counts. Further developments in the case are anticipated as the investigation proceeds, with officials declaring, "Further charges are pending at this time as this is an active and ongoing investigation," per statements made to FOX 10 Phoenix. No bond is currently being allowed for the suspect.
