Arizona State Representative Quang Nguyen has been named Legislator of the Year at the 40th annual Gun Rights Policy Conference (GRPC) held in Salt Lake City. As the chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, Nguyen's efforts to defend Second Amendment rights have been recognized on a national scale. This prestigious award was presented by the Second Amendment Foundation (SAF), an organization known for its commitment to the legal protection of gun possession rights.
Alan Gottlieb, founder of SAF, described Rep. Nguyen's work in unequivocal terms. "I have rarely encountered a public servant as principled and tireless as Representative Quang Nguyen of Arizona. Since his first day in office, Representative Nguyen has stood as a stalwart voice for your rights and mine, not just voting the right way, but leading from the front, shaping the debate, and holding the line against those who would erode our freedoms incrementally," Gottlieb's accolades were detailed in an announcement obtained by the Arizona House of Representatives.
The conference, a gathering point for gun rights advocates, included a variety of speakers ranging from legal scholars to industry leaders who spoke on firearms policy and the direction of the Second Amendment. Arizona House Speaker Steve Montenegro and Representative Nick Kupper joined Nguyen at this year's GRPC. Montenegro, who participated in a Fireside Chat, shared insights on the Arizona House Republicans' dedication to gun rights.
In his remarks, Nguyen expressed his gratitude and reasserted his commitment to the constitutional right to bear arms. "It is an incredible honor to be recognized by the Second Amendment Foundation as Legislator of the Year," said Nguyen. "I will always defend the Constitution as written and protect Arizonans’ right to self-defense. I am grateful to Speaker Montenegro and Representative Kupper for standing with me in defense of the Second Amendment. House Republicans will continue to lead Arizona in the fight to preserve our rights," the Arizona House of Representatives revealed in their statement.
