On Tuesday evening, a robbery unfolded at Melrose Express on Park Avenue, casting a shadow over the usual tranquility of the neighborhood. According to a report by the Memphis Police Department, two male suspects accosted a victim beside his black SUV, forcibly taking his cell phone and handgun before fleeing in a gray sedan driven by a third accomplice.
At approximately 7:25 p.m., as the victim was standing by his vehicle, the assailants, described as young Black males in their late teens or early twenties, approached briskly. Surveilling the scene, the car with temporary tags, a dark gray Honda Sedan, idled nearby during the confrontation. Dressed in a black hooded jacket and light-colored, torn jeans, the first suspect sported long dreads with blonde tips and a skull cap. His accomplice, also appearing youthful, wore dark clothing and brandished a pistol while they executed the robbery.
Witnesses have provided a description of the suspects, with the first suspect being thin, outfitted in black and white tennis shoes alongside his casual attire. The second suspect, uniformly draped in black, pulled the firearm confidently, further intensifying the already fraught scenario. As they retreated with the stolen items, a third unseen partner completed their escape.
