An Ashburn man has been arrested following a fatal shooting that transpired over the weekend, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. Zachary Taylor Brown-Earnest, 31, faces charges of murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony in the death of Sinclair Wynn, a 35-year-old man from Sycamore, GA.
Early Saturday morning, at approximately 1:05 a.m., the GBI was called in to assist the Ashburn Police Department with the investigation of the incident; this took place after an argument broke out between Brown-Earnest and Wynn at a gathering in a home on West End Street, where Brown-Earnest allegedly discharged a firearm, resulting in Wynn's death, he ran to his car and collapsed investigators informed the public through a statement on their official website.
Wynn was pronounced deceased at the scene, and the circumstances that led to the altercation are still under examination by authorities; the GBI is actively pursuing leads and urges the public to come forward with any information that might aid in the investigation. The case remains active, and upon the conclusion of the investigative process, all findings will be handed over to the Tift Judicial District Attorney's Office to pursue the appropriate judicial course.
