Looking for a stage to showcase your talent? Look no further than Athens Creative Theatre's latest event. They've announced auditions for "ACT’s Got Talent," a new talent showcase that's all about spotlighting local performers. Auditions will be held on Thursday, October 23 and Friday, October 24 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. for talent, with additional opportunities for those keen to host running from 3:00-8:00 p.m. The main occasion? That's on Friday, November 7, at the Morton Theatre in downtown Athens.
This isn't your garden-variety talent show, though. Athens Creative Theatre is casting a wide net, calling on singers, dancers, comedians, musicians, and magicians — virtually anyone with a skill to present. The goal is simple: to celebrate the breadth of abilities in Athens’ community. According to an announcement by the Athens-Clarke County Government, it's all about an "unforgettable evening of creativity, courage, and, community spirit."
Prospective performers should head to Quinn Hall at Memorial Park, located at 293 Gran Ellen Drive, for auditions. Those interested have been advised to call 706-613-3628 or send an email to [email protected] to get on the schedule. It's an opportunity for locals to put their talent on the map, and with the supportive backdrop of the historic Morton Theatre, the stakes are as high as the excitement level.
