Tragedy struck the Atlanta community late on Tuesday when a 17-year-old boy was shot and critically injured at 201 Moury Ave SW. According to the Atlanta Police Department’s report, officers were dispatched to the scene around 11:31 P.M. following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, the victim was found with severe gunshot wounds.
First responders attempted to save the young man's life at the scene. The Atlanta Police added, "Officers, along with Grady EMS, administered life-saving measures before the victim was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital in critical condition." Despite the efforts to stabilize him, the victim, whose identity has not been released, succumbed to his injuries.
The case has been passed to the Homicide Unit. In their ongoing investigation, detectives are piecing together the circumstances that led to this fatal moment. No suspects have been named, and the department urges anyone with information to come forward.
